Ryan McMurtrie
Chief Executive Officer

Ryan was born and raised in Appleton, WI., and started learning the real estate business at an early age from his Dad, Arden’s founder. This exposure served as the catalyst for Ryan choosing to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business which is consistently ranked as having one of the best real estate programs in the country. Ryan graduated with a BBA in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics and BBA in Finance, Investment, and Banking. Prior to graduating, Ryan worked as a development intern at one of the largest real estate firms in Madison and expanded his understanding of property management by working as a maintenance technician and leasing specialist for Arden. Initial jobs in the restaurant industry were formative as they caused Ryan to gain a passion for human connection and delivering excellent customer service. After graduating, Ryan relocated to Dallas, TX, to fulfill a dream of working for Goldman Sachs where he gained invaluable experience as an Investment Analyst. A desire to work in a more entrepreneurial environment eventually led him back to Wisconsin and onto the Arden team where he started as an analyst and eventually progressed to become the Director of Development and EVP.

Ryan became CEO in 2024 which has allowed him to continue leveraging his fascination with the connection between financial performance, design, and the team member/resident experience. Since 2017, Ryan has served as a board member for American National Bank, a financial institution focused on serving local businesses and providing them with the resources necessary to succeed. Ryan is committed to serving the greater communities in which Arden operates by focusing on creating lasting relationships and meaningful connections.

Fun Facts:
1. Visiting Kenya and Rwanda was the most incredible trip Ryan’s ever taken.
2. Helicopter skiing in British Colombia is the most exciting thing Ryan’s ever done in his life.
3. Ryan played in the 2007 Disc Golf World Championships.

Rich Braatz
Chief Financial Officer / Chief Operations Officer

Rich has specialized in finance and accounting for over 31 years. His multifaceted background includes time spent as a Financial Analyst, Corporate Controller, and Public Accountant. Rich has been a core contributor to the success of Arden Property Group Inc. for over 24 years. Rich is a licensed CPA, a certified CMA, and carries a BBA in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. When he is not leading the financial operations of Arden, Rich can be found traveling, reading, checking out cars, or watching sports.

Fun Facts:
1. Rich was born in Germany.
2. Though Rich hates the heat, he often finds himself traveling to tropical or desert destinations.
3. Rich became a Packers season ticketholder after being on the wait list for 27 years.

Jenna Schneider
Vice President of Property Management

Jenna has been supporting the multifamily industry since 2007 and relocated to Wisconsin from Minnesota to join the Arden team in 2022. Jenna has experience in leading teams across multiple states through a wide variety of functions and asset classes, including acquisitions, dispositions, new construction lease ups, A-C class market rate, Section 42 Tax Credit, 55+ independent living, and commercial. Jenna’s background has allowed her to become well versed with a variety of management structures including third-party management, REIT management, and owner-managed structures. Jenna holds an AS degree in Business Administration, her Tax Credit Specialist (TCS) designation, is a current CAPS (Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor) candidate, and has held her Minnesota Real Estate license and CRM designation (Certified Residential Manager). Jenna is passionate about creating strong leaders and perfecting multifamily operations. She has served several years as the Vice President of the Rochester Multi Housing Association, has shared her knowledge by speaking at multi housing conferences and with the Minnesota Real Estate Journal, is a published freelance writer focused on multifamily content, and has received several accolades at both the state and organizational level throughout her career, recognizing her as a top performer individually and as a team leader. When she’s not creating strong leaders and perfecting our property management platform, you can find Jenna at a beach or a national park, taking in the scenery.

Fun Facts:
1. Jenna once virtually rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
2. She’s visited 47 of the 50 U.S. states.
3. She’ll never pass up an opportunity to visit a brewery, winery, or Farmer’s Market.

Mindy Brill
Vice President of Marketing

“Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life” – Steve Jobs is quoted saying this, and Mindy Brill lives it! With over 28 years of experience, Mindy has been leading all Marketing operations at Arden since 2011. Mindy holds a BA in Marketing/Organizational Business from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Her background encompasses leading corporate and onsite Marketing teams throughout the long-term care industry including market rate apartment communities, 55+ independent senior living, RCAC (Resident Care Apartment Communities), CBRF (Community Based Residential Facilities), adult day care and skilled nursing facilities. When she’s not leading Arden’s marketing efforts, collaborating with our teams, and contributing to the vision of our organization, you can find Mindy drinking the tears of her opponents on the pickleball court.

Fun Facts:
1. Mindy sailed in a regatta in Australia.
2. She played the violin in a mock orchestra at the Sydney Opera House.
3. In college, Mindy placed 12th in the nation in her debate circuit.

Jake Basten
Vice President of Construction

Jake is an experienced construction professional with a demonstrated history within the industry with strong program management. He has been leading Arden’s construction operations—United Construction—since 2021 and holds a BS in Construction Management and BS in Architectural Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Prior to joining Arden, Jake spent time in the Chicago market and built retail and restaurants in airports all over the country. When he’s not leading United Construction at Arden, you can find Jake coaching soccer, playing hockey, hunting, fishing, golfing, or spending time with his large family.

Fun Facts:
1. Jake is a national championship award winner in a construction AGC competition.
2. He has been coaching soccer for over a decade. 3. He played competitive hockey all the way through college and still enjoys playing today.

Suzanne Seegers
Vice President of Tax

Suzanne has specialized in public and tax accounting for over 26 years and holds a BA in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. She is a licensed CPA, a certified Tax Credit Specialist through the National Center for Housing Management, and a certified WHEDA Management Agent. Suzanne has been recognized for her advanced skillset, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence through the Wipfli Way Award for Excellence. When she’s not leading the tax operations at Arden, Suzanne can be found doing yoga, reading, completing puzzles, or working on ceramics.

Andrew Knuth
Director of Human Resources

Arden welcomed Andrew Knuth to the team in January 2024. He has specialized in HR leadership for over 16 years, supporting large teams and strong company culture across multiple states. Andrew holds a BS in Management with an emphasis on Human Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse. Originally from the Milwaukee area, Andrew is happy to find himself back in his home state after spending 8 years in Chicago. When he’s not assisting leaders and team members with their day-to-day HR needs, Andrew is fishing, boating, hiking, and enjoying all the outdoor recreation beautiful Wisconsin has to offer.

1. Andrew loves all rock music, except hair metal.
2. He has visited 33 of 50 U.S. states.

Tashayanna Mixson
Regional Vice President, Madison & Northern Milwaukee Region

Bringing over 22 years of multifamily experience, Tashayanna joined the Arden team in September 2023. Her background encompasses leadership in multifamily investments, HOA, conventional, affordable, 55+ and short-term rental management across a variety of U.S. markets. Tashayanna studied real estate and small business operations at Madison College and is certified in Sustainable Real Estate Management. Tashayanna cultivates success via her innovative approach to managing operations and her leadership style centered around empowerment. When she’s not leading her teams to success, you can find Tashayanna converting her interests into small businesses, watching documentaries, or listening to a great podcast.

1. Tashayanna is currently writing a children’s book series.
2. She enjoys solo travel abroad.
3. She enjoys cooking and sharing a healthy meal with family and friends.

Michele Madson
Regional Vice President, North Central Region

Born and raised in Wisconsin’s Fox Cities, Michele has been a dedicated leader with Arden for over 23 years. Michele holds an AS in Hospitality Management from Fox Valley Technical College. Her background includes a variety of managerial roles across the hospitality industry. Prior to transitioning into a regional leadership role, Michele gained extensive experience with the 55+ Independent asset class as an onsite Community Director leading Arden’s largest onsite team. When she’s not leading our onsite teams towards success, Michele can be found camping or spending the day watching her daughter play basketball or volleyball.

Fun Facts:
1. Michele loves the band Journey.
2. She adores Mickey Mouse. He brings a smile to her face every time she sees any classical pictures of him.

Melissa Henderson
Regional Vice President, South Milwaukee Region

After 5 years of dedicated onsite leadership, Melissa joined our regional leadership team at Arden in November 2023. Melissa has been in the Wisconsin multifamily industry for over 20 years and is currently working toward obtaining her Certified Apartment Manager designation. Overseeing our south Milwaukee region, Melissa has demonstrated her ability to motivate teams, stabilize occupancies, and provide a stellar customer experience. When she’s not working, Melissa is traveling, attending craft fairs, or spending quality time with her family and friends.

1. Melissa loves to kayak and spend time outdoors.
2. Her dream job would be to own a bridal boutique!
3. Spending time by the ocean is Melissa’s happy place.

Mike Lager
IT Services Manager

Mike has over 10 years of experience in various IT Management roles. His consistent passion for IT and drive to solve problems has informed his career. Mike has been contributing to Arden’s success since 2022. He holds many IT certifications including CompTIA A+, CompTIA Server+, and numerous computer management certifications from Kaseya including RMM, Datto SaaS and Backup, and Backup & Disaster Recovery (BCDR). Mike has a BS in Archaeology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. When he’s not in the office, Mike can be found working with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, camping with his three boys and wife, or playing various games with family and friends.

Fun Facts:
1. Mike holds a degree in archaeology but switched to working in IT because he finds it endlessly fascinating.
2. Mike has enjoyed playing Dungeons & Dragons since he was a kid.
